Convergence Environmental Policy
Convergence Strategies seeks excellence in every aspect of its business and is committed to minimising the environmental impacts of its business operations.
Convergence is concerned about the world's limited natural resources. As cost savings serve our customer’s business goals, we believe environmental protection is in line with our general goals and our values and should be an integrated part of our business activities.
In our operations, beyond cost reduction, we advise our customers with environmental friendly programs such as handset recycling that actually bring both environmental waste reduction and economic value and assure compliance.
We believe that businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner.
We are therefore committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods and those we recommend to our customers.
It is our priority to encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same. Not only is this sound commercial sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.
Our Environmental Policy commitment states:
-
Continuously improve our environmental performance and integrate recognised environmental management best practices into our business operations.
-
Assess the environmental impact of any new processes or products we intend to introduce in advance. Reduce our consumption of resources and improve the efficient use of those resources in our operations.
-
Measure and take action to reduce the carbon footprint of our business activities; establish corporate environmental objectives and targets relevant to the environmental impact of our activities; work to meet our published objectives and targets.
-
Reduce, manage and where possible eliminate waste generated from our business operations according to the principles of prevention, reduction, re-use and recycling through safe and responsible methods..
-
Apply the principles of continuous improvement in respect of air, water, noise and light pollution from our premises and reduce any impacts from our operations on the environment and local community.
-
Give due consideration to environmental efficiencies and energy performance in the acquisition, design, refurbishment, location and use of offices.
-
Minimise energy and water usage in our offices, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies, and minimise our consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable.
-
Ensure environmental, including climate change, criteria are taken into account in the procurement of goods and services. As far as possible purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment and encourage others to do the same.
-
Wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice and other environmental requirements to which Convergence subscribes.
-
Maintain a best practice approach through rigorous monitoring and review of our performance.
To meet our commitments we will:
-
Provide Executive Board oversight and review of environmental policies and performance, and allocate resources for their effective direction and implementation.
-
Address complaints about any breach of our Environmental Policy promptly and to the satisfaction of all concerned.
-
Communicate internally and externally our Environmental Policy and performance on a regular basis, and encourage feedback.
-
Ensure that all employees understand our Environmental Policy and conform to the high standards it requires.
-
Work together with our people/employees, service partners, suppliers, property owners and their agents to promote improved environmental performance to make them consistent with those of Convergence.
-
Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers and contractors acting on behalf of Convergence.
-
Promote appropriate consideration of sustainability and environmental issues in the services we provide to our clients.
-
Set and monitor key objectives and targets for managing our environmental performance at least annually in consultation with staff, associates and customers.
This statement represents our general position on environmental issues, and the policies and practices we will apply in conducting our business. The Environmental Policy is accessible via our internal intranet and to other interested parties via our website (www.convergence-strategies.com) and upon request.
